Seoul Food: oneinamillion Cafe | 원인어밀리언 in Hannam-dong
Ladies, I present you with one of the most instagrammable, swoon-worthy cafes in Seoul: oneinamillion. It's also one of the most basic b*tch cafes in Seoul, just depends on how you look at it. This neighborhood, particularly this back street where oneinamillion is located, is an Instagrammer's heaven, evidenced by the multitude of mini photoshoots that occur every weekend.
Personally, I love this place and will take any excuse to sit there with a slice of cheesecake (though when I took my cousin Kim there, they were out so we settled for red velvet) and a coffee in a pink cup with custom illustrations. It has everything that a basic & instagrammable cafe needs: plants, marble tables, and an assortment of seating, varying from faux Carl Hansen & Son to couches for canoodling (but no monkey business).
It's really lovely in the winter; part of the seating near the main road feels underground because of the incline of the street. It feels cozy inside to have a warm drink while snow comes down through the window, illuminated by the orange light from the streetlamps. In the spring and summer though, go around mid-day if you can for some natural light that streams through the windows.
There's an outdoor area too, so if it's too packed then you can sit on the tile built-in benches outside. Just watch out for the stray cats (seriously, they're everywhere) and don't get caught in the middle of the bloggers taking photos as if they own the place. Bryan's favorite comment about this place: "Do you think that all the girls who have their photo taken next to the 'oneinamillion' sign outside get the irony?"
