Rethinking UNPLASTIC: A Love Letter
When I first thought about starting a beauty blog, it was really more to to record the products I was using, how I was using them and my of-the-moment routine. A year prior, I plunged into Korean beauty and skincare in bigger way than I expected, and I was getting a lot of questions about what I was using from friends and colleagues. I figured, why not just document it and then give everyone a site to refer to?
I had—and still have—little to no intention of making makeup tutorials. And let’s be honest, I hate the way I look on video unless it’s with a Snapchat lens that makes me look like a cute deer or bunny. I’m not a dermatologist so my skincare advice is anecdotal at best. But, I love to share. Sometimes I over-share. I love to tell anyone who will read or listen about everything I think about a product and why I like it and don’t, whether they care or not.
But the longer this site exists in my little place on the internet, the more I desire to redefine its’ purpose. I enjoy writing reviews, sharing my experiences and product results. But with each day that passes without me posting a blog entry or a haul pic on Instagram (and lately it’s been a lot of days, I know), the more I become convinced that this space isn’t really for me to share my routines and picks exclusively, but really more for me to introduce you to all the people in my life who inspire me.
So, I’m embarking on this new journey to redefine UNPLASTIC. Hope you’ll continue to follow me as I make personal product discoveries and unearth new stories to tell.
